The UN social initiative called Save Food started in 2011 and has already united over 600 companies, non-governmental organizations and associations from 35 countries worldwide. The objectives of the programme include the reduction of food waste around the world, famine relief, and environmental protection.
This may sound paradoxical, but according to the research it is polymer packaging that:

• is the most environmentally friendly packaging (taking into account water, power and timber consumed, air pollution etc.),
• helps to increase foods shelf life and reduce product damaging,
• reduces billions of tons of food waste,
• assists in famine relief.

Its proper recycling enables to lower the volumes of solid waste and save resources.
Aris, like other large packaging industry players, has been steadily introducing innovative technologies, improving eco-friendliness of flexible packaging and preventing foods being damaged and transport losses.

1. The main point is that we consciously select material ingredients. It is not enough to know specific professional information. It is necessary to offer the customer the packaging composition that is required and sufficient only.
   For example, for biscuits it is not necessary to provide a composite three or four layer polymer material like the one required for ready-made long-life food products. The more layers are in the material, the harder it is to recycle it.
   The same refers to laminates with aluminum foil. It can be recycled only separately, not being “glued” to any other polymer materials. Therefore, we offer foiled packaging only for those products which require it.
2. We try to use films with low-temperature sealing, which reduces power consumption.
