Aris Establishment and Development

Our history

Aris was founded in 1992 as a supplier of innovative technological equipment for food and agricultural industries. Today bakeries and mills installed by us operate in different parts of Ukraine, dairy and meat processing mini factories, oil extraction production units, pasta factories and other facilities.

1997-2005

In 1997 we switched to the supplies off packaging materials and equipment from global leading manufacturers.

In 2005 we started our own packaging production and made the first batch of bags. At that time the company staff was only 20 people.

We worked hard, met the needs of each customer and developed a regular customer base of many large and small companies in meat processing, bakery and confectionery industries of Ukraine. It sounds elevated but we didn’t notice ourselves how we began participating in establishing the culture of quality packaging in Ukraine.

2008-2010

In 2008 the economic recession started in Ukraine and some companies had to shut down. We were only spurred by the economic crisis. Our target was to double our sales. We met our target by the end of the year.
In 2010 we expanded bag production: we purchased equipment to manufacture doy packs and stabile bags. The same year the first batch of doy packs was made.

2011-2015

In 2011 we opened an online store of stock standard bags. We were the first to offer the Ukrainian market standard universal bags – primarily for coffee. But now more and more companies from different industries buy them.

In September 2014 we purchased our own machinery for film lamination and printing (rotogravure machine, solvent and non-solvent laminators). Before that we had been specialized only in the production of bags. Since 2014 we have been operating on the market as a full cycle manufacturer: printing, lamination, roll material production and manufacturing standard bags.

For us it was a nearly a quantum leap, enabling to increase production volumes many times. In 2014 and 2015 we started participating in European exhibitions and fulfilling the first orders for export.

2016-2017

In 2016 we created a bag with a thin waist – a shaped doy pack – and were awarded for it at the professional contest “Ukrainian star of packaging-2017”.

Before 2017 we had become leaders in the production by the range of products and bag sales volumes on the Ukrainian market with the monthly output of 10-11 million units.

In 2017 we also developed flexible retort pouches (bags), in which products can be cooked and which fully substitutes plates. For our customers manufacturing army foods, ready-made foods and pet foods.

At the end of 2017 we were the first in Ukraine to introduce flat bottom bags – a new trend in Europe and the USA.

2018-2020

Participation in coffee festivals and industry trade shows dedicated to the packaging sector was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. It became the company's first major challenge, which it successfully overcame while continuing to strengthen its export sales.

Over time, it has become a good tradition to create collections of standard packaging in the Pantone Color of the Year, reflecting current design trends.

2021-2022

Participation in coffee festivals and industry trade shows dedicated to the packaging sector was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. It became the company's first major challenge, which it successfully overcame while continuing to strengthen its export sales.

Over time, it has become a good tradition to create collections of standard packaging in the Pantone Color of the Year, reflecting current design trends.2021 was a year of significant achievements for the company. We completed the construction and commissioned the first phase of our new manufacturing facility in Dergachi, enabling the launch of a full-cycle production process at the new location. The new 5,500 m² production site became an important milestone in scaling operations and building a European-standard manufacturing plant.

The company also completed another stage of upgrading its production equipment fleet and successfully certified its quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001 standards. Aris increased the share of exports in total sales to 30%, with its packaging solutions being used in more than 30 countries worldwide.

2022 became a year of extraordinary challenges, tragedies, and disappointments for the company. At the same time, it was a year marked by unwavering faith, humanity, and genuine mutual support.

The company had ambitious plans for 2022. However, with the outbreak of the war, the production facility found itself on the front line. As a result of enemy shelling, the company's premises and production buildings sustained significant damage. Continuing operations under such conditions was impossible.

A decision was made to relocate both production equipment and employees to safer locations. By the end of spring, the company successfully restarted its manufacturing processes and resumed the production of packaging solutions essential to its customers.

2023-2024

2023 became a landmark year in the development of innovative sustainable packaging solutions. Aris was the first company in Ukraine to launch the production of fully recyclable packaging. This innovation received a positive response from customers, reinforcing the growing demand for environmentally responsible packaging.

As a result, the search for new materials and packaging formats continued throughout 2024, further expanding the company’s portfolio of sustainable solutions.

2025

2025 was a year of international growth for ARIS and a strengthening of its position in the European flexible packaging market.

The company represented Ukraine at major international industry events, including the Warsaw Coffee Festival and World of Coffee in Geneva. Participation in these exhibitions provided an opportunity to showcase packaging solutions for coffee brands, expand international networks, and strengthen partnerships with European companies.

One of the key areas of development in 2025 was sustainable and recyclable packaging. ARIS continued to implement mono-material and recyclable packaging solutions, combining functionality, aesthetics, and the latest environmental requirements of the market.

In 2025, the company also joined a packaging collection and recycling initiative during the Coffee, Books & Vintage festival. More than 400 kg of used coffee packaging was given a second life and transformed into hygienic dog waste bags.

ARIS continued to support Ukraine’s coffee community and SCA Ukraine championships, fostering partnerships with local brands and producers.

Today, ARIS is a full-cycle flexible packaging manufacturer serving customers in more than 30 countries worldwide.
