What are the methods for manufacturing eco-friendly packaging?

For a long time, our team has been diligently researching the dynamics of the packaging market, collaborating with technologists from various countries. The goal was clear: to find an innovative approach to minimize the negative impact of packaging use. It turned out that there are two main types of eco-friendly packaging in the world: biodegradable (made from corn or potato starch) and recyclable.

The answer is simple: biodegradable packaging is not environmentally sound. Global studies have shown that even when composted properly, such packaging does not decompose completely or without harming the environment. Most biodegradable materials leave behind microplastics, which negatively impact soil and groundwater. Additionally, biodegradable packaging is unsuitable for most products because it lacks a barrier layer that ensures preservation.

Using food products (corn or potato starch) to create packaging violates our ethical principles. Prioritizing such methods means competing with people’s basic needs.

By using recyclable packaging, we are making a choice in favor of a sustainable future. This type of packaging is easily recyclable, reducing the negative impact of plastic. Ukraine has the necessary recycling infrastructure in place, allowing us to contribute to environmental conservation.

Our recyclable packaging is the result of global trends toward simplifying materials to facilitate recycling. We use single-material films, simplifying the recycling process and reducing harmful impacts. Replacing complex laminates with single-material films allows us to reduce the number of layers in the packaging, which we bond during production using a special solvent-free adhesive. The path to simplifying materials also includes replacing foil with other films that have high barrier properties. This not only provides protection against external factors but also facilitates easier recycling of the packaging.

We offer two types of recyclable bags to choose from: Doypack and Flat Bottom. For your convenience, we’ve included additional options such as:

• Zip-lock closure for repeated opening and resealing
• Tear notches for easy opening
• Rounded corners
• Degassing valve

It’s important to note that the zip-lock and degassing valve are also recyclable.

What to pack inside is up to you. The packaging’s barrier properties allow you to store tea, granola, muesli, grains, sugar, protein mixes, and other loose products, and even freshly roasted coffee.
