Recently we have visited the exhibition K - The World’s No. I Trade Fair for Plastics and Rubber in Dusseldorf and overheard what people worldwide say today about plastic. 
3300 international participants showed their latest products and innovations in the plastic and rubber industry.

• Circular economy is a hot trend in the global industry. Machines and technologies are not key players in the industrially developed world. People are in the first place and they succeed due to their knowledge, expertise and skills.
• Solutions to global issues require a new way of thinking and experts to create dedicated solutions. We cannot solve problems using the viewpoint and perspective that caused them.
• Smart plastic recycling. From scratch: plastic should not get to landfills and thus to the environment. Today it is insufficient to evaluate materials by their functionality only. Plastic is a valuable material that must be recycled.

In our world plastic is indispensable. Its drawback is waste, which accumulates in thick layers not only in rivers and seas but also on dry land. The full circular economy could prevent it and enable us to think about plastic benefits again. To make it happen, all of us need to act together: recyclers, raw material manufacturers, mechanical engineers as well as brand owners, end users and politicians in different countries.
